You probably know Chris Pratt from Parks and Recreation before he went on to be a big time movie star with Guardians of the Galaxy, but he actually lived out of his car before making it big.
Now that he’s been Hollywood elite for some time, he’s found that fame can have its downside like the fact that fans are always trying to take his picture.
Pratt explained that he has had to start turning down constant requests for photos because it keeps him from “enjoying the moment.”
Talking to US Weekly, he said, “If I go out and want to do normal things, I have to be comfortable disappointing people. So I just dont take pictures with people. Because thats not about enjoying the moment; its about stealing the moment to brag about later. So I say, Would you settle for a handshake? And then they take the picture anyway.”
No means no, people, although I can understand the excitement.
The thirty-seven-year-old star said there are other things he misses about anonymity.
One of those things being the ability to “spontaneously” meet and chat with strangers, which is honestly my worst nightmare.
“Its tough sometimes, the amount of management you need to do on things you used to do spontaneously,” he said. “What I really miss is sitting down and talking to strangers who dont know me, so we can discover each other. Id say the majority of people I meet have an idea about me before they meet me. Theres something nice to being able to surprise somebody.”
But just don’t surprise him by taking a picture. Maybe just settle in for a handshake.
And a handshake from Chris Pratt is still pretty dang cool.
