‘Teen Mom’ Farrah Abraham fires back at her critics, praises Trump

Farrah Abraham is no stranger to the world of reality TV. But this time, shes getting personal.

The 25-year-old, best known for her role in MTVs Teen Mom and for her infamous sex tape, is now starring in WE tvs Marriage Bootcamp where she and three other stars (Kendra Wilkinson, Mike The Situation Sorrentino and Chad Ochocinco Johnson) will expose the toxic relationships they have with their families as they undergo counseling with the help of two therapists.

I was so compelled to try out the family bootcamp because my parents and I have a long history on Teen Mom, which many have watched over the years on MTV, Abraham told Fox News. And I feel so many things are unanswered. Theres a lot of variables that many dont get to see why we have such a volatile relationship.

Abraham, along with her divorced parents Debra and Michael, have opted to participate in the series in hopes of breaking free from what is described as a vicious and explosive cycle of disrespect and fighting. Abraham had previously opened up about physical abuse she endured as a child. She isnt bothered that some critics may think her latest foray into reality TV is all for fame.

Im very real, and I am all for sharing socially what I would like to improve and hopefully that connects with others, she said. So I feel like sharing our familys discrepancies and the challenges that we face can only help and really be relatable to other families.

Despite the strained relationship Abraham has with her parents, she acknowledged their support when her 2013 sex tape, one that she told Dr. Phil that year was made for personal use and was never intended to be public, became widely available.

During that time when my sex tape was very public to everyone I think my parents, good or bad, they wanted to just protect me and help me figure out my things, she explained. [And] I think being 21 is a rough age and no 21-year-old gets through that age with being perfect. So I think we handled it the best way we could legally and privately.

But one other person whos been doubting Abrahams claims is cast-mate Kendra Wilkinson. The 31-year-old former Playboy Playmate told PEOPLE that she found Abrahams problems with her parents weird and wanted to not be in the same room with them.

Well, Im not in the same room as her, Abraham shot back. I focus on my own life. And thats unfortunate she has such a negative connotation about herself. Maybe thats why she has no friends. But anyway, thats how I feel.

But one person she wouldnt mind connecting with instead is President Donald Trump. She recently told WEtv.com that if she could invite any famous person to dinner, it would be the 70-year-old.

Im so happy hes our President! she exclaimed on what she would tell Trump. And you know what? My businesses are booming even better so because of him. So thank you President Donald Trump.

Another thing Abraham isnt worried about these days is any criticism she may receive online for her looks (shes admitted to going under the knife to enhance her appearance). Abraham believes any mother, no matter their age, has the right to feel confident, inside and out.

Im speaking proof that you can be a mother, you can be strong, you can be sexy, you can be whatever you want, she said. You can be fearless. So yes, all moms can get their sexy back, like Justin Timberlake.

"Marriage Bootcamp" premieres Friday, April 28 at 9 p.m. on WE tv.
