Taylor Swift returns to social media with another ominous clue

Twenty-four hours after breaking a self-imposed social media blackout (with a mysterious video many fans thought depicted a snake), Taylor Swift has shared another, longer video of what still appears to most likely be… a snake.

While the original clip clocked in at 10 seconds, this second one is 20 seconds, giving fans twice the amount of footage to sift through for clues.

Monday, fans seemed pretty convinced that a snake was the best guess for what the writhing, scaly object in the video was, but others contended it could be a fuse for a stick of dynamite, or something else entirely.

The longer clip, though, with its green hues and more detailed squirming, seems to support the case for this being a reference to Kim Kardashian‘s now-notorious tweets about the pop star from 2016. At the time, Kardashian called Swift a “snake” for claiming in the press that Kanye West had blindsided her with the lyrics and music video for his song “Famous” (which mention Swift by name). Kardashian famously Snapchatted a video she’d recorded of a phone call between Swift and West as proof that Swift was lying.

While it’s still unclear what exactly Swift is teasing with these videos, it’s safe to say she’ll be addressing her reputation in some way.

Us Weekly found a source who claims Swift’s new single will drop this Friday, and that it will be “poppy,” but Swift’s camp has yet to confirm.
